Dr Elfreda Bawole, dental surgeon at Tender Dental Care
Co-founder & Dental Surgeon

Dr Bawole enjoys caring for children and families, with an approach centred on simple explanations, attention to detail and conversations about treatment options.

Approach to care

Dr Bawole gives younger patients time to understand what is happening. She uses language they can follow and involves parents in discussing their child’s care. She enjoys the continuity of seeing families over time as children grow.

With adults, she discusses practical ways to look after teeth between visits. Her advice takes everyday routines into account, so the conversation extends beyond what happens in the dental chair. She also has an interest in supporting anxious patients and takes care to explain each step of treatment.

For Dr Bawole, prevention, treatment and daily care belong in the same conversation. Her focus is on explaining what is being discussed and giving patients and parents a part in decisions about care.

Clinical interests

Her clinical interests are children's and family dentistry; preventive care; restorative dentistry; aesthetic dentistry; and supporting anxious patients.

Experience and qualifications

Dr Bawole holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Western Australia, where she studied alongside Dr Chen Liyan Leon.

Her clinical training took her to metropolitan and rural Western Australia, including settings serving underserved communities. She subsequently entered private practice in Singapore.

Beyond the clinic

Outside dentistry, she spends time with her family and two young boys. She enjoys baking, travelling and building LEGO.
