Dr Leon’s approach brings together an interest in preserving natural teeth and a belief that patients should understand the reasons behind their care.
Approach to care
Dr Leon founded Tender Dental Care to look after patients and their families over the years. For him, that means taking the time to listen, explaining things clearly and planning treatment together, so patients can make decisions about their care with the information they need.
When several dental problems need treatment, he sets out the order of care, what each stage involves and what it is likely to cost, so patients can decide one step at a time. He has a particular interest in caring for nervous patients, and believes no one should feel embarrassed about their teeth or how long it has been since their last visit.
Clinical interests
His clinical interests are root canal treatment and retreatment; dental implants; wisdom tooth removal and oral surgery; restorative dentistry; clear aligner therapy; caring for nervous patients; and planning care when several problems need treatment.
Experience and qualifications
Dr Chen holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne. His experience includes hospital and community settings in rural and metropolitan Western Australia.
In Singapore, he previously practised at Raffles Dental. He is also a Senior Associate Dental Surgeon at Ashford Dental Centre.
Beyond the clinic
Dentistry spans four generations of his family. In establishing Tender Dental Care, he wants to build a neighbourhood clinic where people can ask questions, understand their options and return for ongoing care.
